Profile –

IAVI is an international, not-for-profit, Product Development Partnership (PDP) working across sectors to effectively leverage a collaborative model to develop HIV vaccines while furthering broader HIV and biomedical technology prevention efforts, and public health goals. In India, the organisation performs population-based studies in collaboration with the Department of Science and Technology and Department of Biotechnology, Government of India

Challenge –

The  Initiative was unheard of along with the corporate honchos

Approach –

Multi –pronged media approach:

•Highlighted the need for an HIV vaccine

•Projected IAVI as a catalyser of India’s scientific research

•Highlighted India’s emerging medical science expertise through IAVI’s efforts

•Besides, Lexicon PR has on an ongoing basis rigorously tracked speaking opportunities at conferences that IAVI could participate in

Outcome –

The Approach yielded successful outcomes:

•To highlight the latest success, as a direct outcome, the Government collaborated with IAVI as a partner to organise India Africa Health Sciences Meet 2016. Moreover, the success of the event has led the government to propose this event on annual basis for South-South collaboration in Bio-medical Sciences Research and Development

•Besides, created  greater awareness among general public & other stakeholders about the need for HIV vaccine

•Established IAVI as a leading non-governmental organization in the field of HIV vaccine development and other biomedical research areas

•Noteworthy – is that all of this has been achieved through Public /Media Relations, as the company has undertaken no Ad campaigns or any other paid-for initiatives in media.
